Abstract
For the first time, the genus Schileykiella is recorded from Northern Africa. One species, Schileykiella sordulenta (Morelet, 1851), was found to be widely distributed in the area (Northern Algeria, Northwestern Libya, Tunisia); four other nominal taxa could be identified as synonyms of this species. Two other taxa, Helix alsia Bourguignat, 1863 and Helix lasia Bourguignat, 1863 have been tentatively identified as possible congeneric species; both are known from Northern Algeria.
