Basteria

Basteria is a scientific journal of the Netherlands Malacological Society. The journal’s name is derived from the famous 18th-century scientist Job Baster. The website of the Netherlands Malacological Society is www.spirula.nl.

Original articles on malacological topics are welcome in Basteria. Topics include taxonomy, systematics, faunistics, (paleo)ecology, (paleo)biogeography, conservation, and anatomy. Articles can be submitted by members, and/or non-members to manuscripts@basteria.nl.

Articles are first assessed by the editorial board and are subsequently sent out for peer review. Accepted manuscripts are assigned a ZooBank number and a DOI. These articles are published on the Basteria website as soon as possible, which also constitutes the official publication date of the papers. In addition, a hard copy of the journal is published twice a year for its members.
